ABAGADA

While I visit foreign countries or meet random tourist, people often express their affection to Hebrew typography. Even though I always had a love- hate relationship with the topic I can't help myself from admiring the structure of each one of the alphabet letters. Therefore I decided to make new aleph bet posters for the shop.
For days I was looking for the right font, sketching, drawing and printing and finally chose the current one. Both designs are inspired by the modern Jerusalem type and refer to vintage letterpress textured posters

Hope you're like it.

Bearing gifts

In the Last week I got two amazing presents from overseas that I would like to share here with you. The first one is from Ola who just came back from India and gave me this beautifully made hand drawn sketch book from local artists. The second one is a magic wand from J that came back from London. He remembered the story I once told him, about my grandfather traveling to USA in the late eighties and bringing me a pair of shoes, one size too small, when all I really hoped for is a magic wand. The wand is completely authentic and besides making any wish come true it also spreads magic sparkles all over the place.

Let it snow

Snow in Israel is not a small matter therefore I won't even try to describe what happens when it comes, drama meets the end of the world . I would like to share with you the amazing photo of Jerusalem that my friend took during her flight from Eilat to Tel Aviv.

Carrying torches

From all the traditional Jewish holidays, Hanukah is my favorite. The sense of winter that is finally coming, the songs, the donuts and the most important- The lights! Anyone who knows me for a while is aware that I'm a "light freak". Fireworks, dessert sky, airport lights, warning lights, just name it. Therefore you can only imagine how ecstatic I am when it lasts for eight whole days.

Unfortunately this year the holiday passed too quickly and I had no time to get creative with the menorah but you must give me credit for the donuts.

Smell of oranges

When I was eight, my mother told us we were immigrating to Israel and promised me a doll house and that the groundwas covered with oranges. It didn’t take long for me to realize that she lied… twice.

Now, every time I hear athump sound outside my window and pass by the tangerine tree that no one cares about I recall her promises and realize how much has changed in the past twenty something years.
